Coach’s Report: Rampage vs. Melbourne Ducks – Round 4

The bye week gave us some much needed to time to heal up and evaluate our play over the past six games.

We hit the road this weekend well rested and better informed on what awaits us when we take the ice Saturday afternoon at IceHQ.

The Ducks have proven over the past 6 games they are a talented team. They can score from anywhere on the ice and they move extremely well for a team of their size.

When we last met we were a young team trying to find our identity. We had come off a successful weekend against a very young Coast team and were probably a little unprepared to take on a team the calibre of the Ducks.

We now know a lot more about ourselves and the type of hockey we need to play if we are to be successful.

We head into Melbourne this weekend knowing what works for us and have full intention to give everything we have to take 6 points home with us.

Nick Jones will re join the lineup this weekend after missing the past two home series due to other commitments. Nick was one of top performers on our opening weekend and will be a welcome addition to the line up.

We will also be seeing import Jordan Smith play his first games of the season. Jordan has fully recovered from a injury that kept him out of the first six games of the season. Jordan is a natural goal scorer will be one to watch this weekend and in future games.

Our line up for this weekend:

  • Derry Adler
  • Harley Anderson (C)
  • Josh Anderson (A)
  • Jon Bale
  • Anthony Barnes
  • Marco Bertossa
  • Jack Connor
  • Luca D’Arsie (G)
  • Darryl Dunsford
  • Nick Jones
  • Jordan McTaggart
  • Nick Novysedlak (G)
  • Anthony Santilli
  • Jordan Smith
